Uniting elements of science and Minimalism, Ann Veronica Janssens makes glistening artworks and immersive environments that consider the limits and fragility of perception. The artist creates projections, installations, urban interventions, and sculptures as she explores our shifting, sensorial experience of reality. Throughout her practice, Janssens highlights properties of space, light, time, radiant color, and surface. Her pieces often fluctuate with particular gallery conditions, embracing transparency, fluidity, reflection, and refraction: Fog, glitter, and glass are frequent materials.
Janssens has exhibited in New York, Paris, London, Berlin, Hong Kong, Brussels, and Tokyo. She has participated in shows at the Nasher Sculpture Center, the Museum of Contemporary Art Australia, the Mori Art Museum, and the Museum of Contemporary Art, Los Angeles.
