Rinus Van de Velde draws himself as an actor in an imagined biography of artists. Working in charcoal, he constructs his images using found photographs or pictures and then stages the scenes. Texts within the large, detailed images provide context for the scenes. The artist works quickly which is in the style that the documentary nature of his work is best expressed.
